In the wake of Hurricane Harvey we at the Dayton Community Development Corporation would like to thank all our local, state, and federal agencies for their help in navigating these rough waters.
Also a HUGE thanks goes out to our citizens…it is great to know that when things are their most difficult we have neighbors like you.
While small parts of Dayton suffered some flooding issues we are happy to say our city came through pretty well. We are blessed to have been much less affected by the terrible circumstance than some of our neighbors.
All current DCDC initiatives are intact with only a few facing minor construction delays. The structural integrity of our buildings is sound and our available green field properties recovered quickly.
From an economic standpoint we are strong and ready to move forward.
This has been a once in a lifetime flood. Our city has been fortunate to have the people, resources and the good fortune of our topography (81 feet above sea level) to have come through this well.
Now we are identifying opportunities for the future improvements in our preparation and processes. If our city ever faces another circumstance of this gravity and magnitude we will be ready.
