Books, books on tape, and periodicals may be checked out for 2 weeks. Videos are checked out for 3 days.

Books & Books on tape: $0.10 per day
Videos - $1.00 per day

After hours, books and magazines may be deposited in the book drop.
Do NOT return videos or books on tape in the book drop (a $1 fee on each item will be charged to your card)

Books in high demand may be put on reserve, but may not be renewed if on hold list.

If a particular book you wish to read is not available, we may be able to obtain it from another library. Patrons are responsible for the return postage of borrowed materials.

Books are fitting tributes to the person or events that we wish to remember.  Memorials and honorariums may be made to the library.  If you would like to make a gift or donation, information is available at the desk.

Sponsored annually by the Friends of the Library, includes special events and prizes for summer reading.  The program is for children through the 5th grade and the Read-to-Me program is for preschool age children.

Patrons are invited to join the Friends of the Library, a citizen’s organization which has made possible many contributions to the development of the library.  Members sponsor and participate in a variety of programs such as our annual summer reading program, retirement center program and used book sale.

Library cards are issued free of charge to Dayton residents. Nonresidents may obtain a card for an annual fee of $10.00 per person or $12.00 per family (up to 4 members). We have no age limit, but we do require parental signatures for patrons under the age of 18 years.  Each patron assumes full responsibility for the materials and fines charged to his or her card. Lost cards and address changes should be promptly reported. The charge for a replacement card is $5.00

Public Internet Access Available!  A number of computers available FREE to the patrons with Public Internet Access.

Laminating is done at the library on Wednesday mornings. The charge is $1.00 per running foot.  All material for laminating must be in the library on Tuesday by 5:30 pm.

The library has an overhead projector that may be checked out for 3 working days at $2.00 per day. A $5.00 per day late charge will be assessed.

A typing room is available for $2.00 per hour. Patrons must bring their own typing supplies.

The library provides a reference service.  Finding a fact, date, or name can be done via the phone or in person.

Guidance is available in-house to students working on school assignments.
